Wood Pallet Shredder

Application Materials

The Wood Pallet Shredder is engineered to efficiently process a variety of wooden and mixed-material pallets — including softwood pallets, hardwood pallets, and processed wood pallets — preparing them for reuse, recycling, or energy recovery. The Genius Wood Pallet Shredder adopts a double-shaft shredding system as the standard configuration. Without a built-in screen, it delivers high throughput with lower risk of jamming — ideal for bulky pallets and mixed-material wood waste. While output particle size may vary, an optional screening system can be installed to achieve more uniform chip sizes.

Superior Features

The Genius Wood Pallet Shredder combines heavy-duty design, precise cutting, and operational efficiency to meet the demands of pallet recycling and wood waste processing.

  • Cost-Effective Precision

Equipped with an STM high-precision gearbox from Italy for high torque density and accurate shaft movement, ensuring consistent performance with reduced energy costs.

  • High Radial Loads with Stability

Reinforced shaft and wear-resistant alloy steel blades maintain high cutting efficiency, even with continuous heavy-duty operation.

  • Easy Maintenance

Modular knife system allows quick blade replacement to minimize downtime.

  • Intelligent Control System

The integrated program monitors the shredding status in real time and automatically controls forward and reverse shaft rotation. This ensures stable operation, prevents material clogging, and maintains optimal throughput for consistent production efficiency.

  • Optional Equipment:

    • Magnetic Separator

      – Removes nails and other ferrous metals from shredded wood.
    • Steel Wire Separator

      – For separating embedded metal wires from certain packaging materials.
    • Conveyor Belt System

      – Automates feeding and output handling.
    • Screening System

      – While the standard double-shaft design has no screen for maximum throughput, an optional screening unit can be added to produce consistent particle sizes for specific downstream processes.

Wood Pallet Shredding Machine Output & Applications

After processing with the Genius Wood Pallet Shredder, pallets are reduced to 30–100 mm wood chips (size adjustable by blade configuration).

    • Without Screen (Standard)

→ Varied particle sizes depending on pallet type and blade configuration.
    • With Screen (Optional)

→ Uniform chip size, e.g., 30–50 mm, suitable for precision applications.

    Applications of Shredded Wood:

    • Biomass fuel production
    • Particleboard or MDF manufacturing
    • Animal bedding or landscaping mulch

    FAQ

Q1: Do nails or screws need to be removed before shredding?

A: No. The machine can process pallets with nails or screws, and the magnetic separator will remove them during processing.

Q2: Can the output size be customized?

A: Yes. Output particle size can be adjusted by changing the screen size and cutting tool design, ranging from large pieces to fine chips.

Q3: How often does the machine require maintenance?

A: With the STM gearbox and wear‑resistant blades, maintenance is minimal—mostly periodic lubrication and blade replacement.

Q4: What downstream equipment can it integrate with?

A: It can be integrated with conveyor systems, magnetic separators, screening units, dust extraction, dryers, and composting lines.

Q5: What is the typical production capacity?

A: Depending on the material and feeding method, the pre‑shredding stage can process several tons per hour, with stable throughput when integrated into a two‑stage shredding system.

Q6: What is the difference between double-shaft and single-shaft shredders for pallets?

A: Double-shaft shredders excel at processing bulky, irregular pallets without pre-cutting, offering high throughput. Single-shaft machines provide more uniform particle size but require pre-processing for oversized items. Our Wood Pallet Shredder comes standard as a double-shaft system with an optional screening unit for size control.
